In the book "Struts & Frets" by Jon Skovron love is something important that is shown in this book. Since it's a teens point of view it's very different from other views. The teens each have different problems that include love. Especially the main protagonist Sam who's main problem is love. At first he doesn't realize it but he's in love with his best friend. There are many things that are stopping him from realizing he is in love.
One thing that is stopping him is his band. He's more worried about his band then the one he loves. For example, after school he goes straight to band practice & doesn't even get to see Jennifer (his lover).It's also because someone bullies him in his band and worries to much about it then he does about Jen.Jon stops bulling him in the end but that's one of the things that stop him.Another thing is he thinks he's in love with another girl not Jennifer. He knows that he can never be with her because it's joes girlfriend.After he has a realization that he can never be with her he finds another girl that he is in love with jenifer. Sam see's Jennifer as a best girl friend the a girlfriend. Then he start seeng her as a beautiful girl. That's when the realization occurs.Happens in every teen's life. That reliazaion that you love someone.The protagonist isn't the only one to realize it.One of the band members thought he was in love with Jennifer but then figured out he loved Joes girlfriend.Just like she loves him.
In conclusion, sometimes teenagers just have to realize who there true love truly is.They may think they love someone at first but they don't.LOve is one crazy thing. Teenagers have a weird way to show it.
