Being the beautiful you

  In the book The Uglies ,Tally was so excited to turn sixteen,you would think she's excited because she's going to have her sweet sixteen or because she's getting her license.Well none of those two is correct.Tally was excited because she was going to finally turn pretty.You see in Tally's world turning sixteen is the biggest moment of your life.You get to be pretty,but there's another city called "The Smoke".It's where most uglies go when they don't want to turn pretty like David.David shows Tally all these cool things and Tally is amazed.Scott Westerfeld really shows how David and Tally have this really great bond.David opened up Tally's eyes to what really was going on.
     One reason why David has a great bond with Tally is because he acts like a guardian angel for Tally is because Tally really wanted to turn pretty,but David tells her what the doctors do to your brain during the operation.They don't just change the way you look but they change the way you think.There give you these lesions that can be deadly.All the pretties had them except for the people with jobs.Most pretties don't have jobs and Tally wasn't planning on having one.She could of gotten the lesion and she could of died.Another reason David has this great bond with Tally is because he likes her personality.He likes her bravery.For example,how she went all by herself to "The Smoke" and you gotta admit the adventure is pretty dangerous. Even though David is Tally's best friend's boyfriend he ends up falling in love with her,and Tally ends up falling in love with him.They make a really good team I think that's also why they have a great bond.They worked together to save their friends.
    I like David because she tells Tally that she's beautiful without the operation.She makes Tally realize that you don't have to be pretty to be beautiful.I think that's what the big lesson is.Sometimes people in the real world people actually do operations just to look pretty.I think it's ridiculous,people should never change how they look just to go to a dumb city.The real lesson in this book is how I said before you don't have to be pretty to be beautiful.
