In the story,The Drummer Boy of Shiloh the person who influences my protagonist is the general. If it wasn't for the general I think Jobey might of just cried and sat alone by himself. Also maybe the soldiers were getting him uncomfortable.Ray Bradbury really shows how Jobey felt him self and how sometimes you need someone to be there for you and give you advice.
When one of the soldiers says "Me I'm the one,I'm the one of all rest who wont die.I'll live through it. I'll go home"I think that's when Jobey automatically thinks not me I might die tomorrow and you see that's when you need a friend or someone to tell you that your going to survive.Jobey really needed the general at that moment.Unfortunately the general didn't show up until Jobey was crying.
I don't blame Jobey for crying he joined the army when he was only nine.Actually I wouldn't say he "Joined" he escape from his family to join the U.S Army.He probably misses his family he needs them in this situation right now.I think the general was like his father.Especially when he said "You are the heart of the army"I think Jobey realized that the army needed him. That he's not just there to get killed.
The Impact of the general on Joby was positive because all these great things happened. At first when the general was talking to him it seem as if he was only there to torture him and tell him that he was a cry baby.I think the generals words made him stronger. As the generals speech cam to a end he started saying all these great stuff to Jobey. That made him feel special.
Sometimes my friends also need a little push or motivation to get them through their problems.I am always there to help.In a way you can say my friends are sometimes in Jobey's shoes and sometimes I am in the generals shoes.Like I said before sometimes you need a little support or motivation to get you by.
